West Greenwich House Fire Leaves 1 Dead: Reports

One resident was able to escape, but another resident died, reports say.

WEST GREENWICH, RI — One person is dead following a Monday night fire at a home in West Greenwich that started in the garage, according to multiple reports.

Firefighters responded to the home on Carrs Pond Road just after 9 p.m. to find the garage on fire, according to Lake Mishnock Fire Rescue, which assisted.

The home quickly became fully engulfed in flames, WPRI reported. One resident was able to escape, but another resident died, according to the outlet.

WJAR reported that the victim was a 59-year-old woman.
