Meet A Future Leader In West Greenwich: Tyler Usler

The future of West Greenwich is looking bright, thanks to the incredible young people working to strengthen our community. In partnership with T-Mobile, Patch is proud to spotlight future leaders like Tyler Usler, who are making a positive impact in and around West Greenwich.

A 2024 graduate of Exeter West Greenwich High School, Tyler excelled both academically and athletically, playing varsity hockey and graduating with honors. His leadership abilities were evident throughout his time with the WW/EWG Hockey Team, starting as a volunteer water boy before rising to team captain in his senior year. His coaches and teammates alike praised his ability to motivate others and keep the team focused during challenging moments, demonstrating his resilience and commitment to the group's success.

Beyond his athletic achievements, Tyler is further distinguished by his academic pursuits. He is currently studying electrical engineering at the Community College of Rhode Island, a field that aligns with his strong problem-solving skills and ambition.

Tyler's recognition as a recipient of the 2024 UWUA scholarship highlights his drive to continue his education while also honoring the legacy of his father, a lineman with Rhode Island Energy. Tyler's rare combination of leadership, kindness and determination makes him a standout young leader, not only in the hockey rink but in his community as well.
