Arts, Bass, Trash and Two Forms of Class

Rockin' Art - Limited, signed, numbered prints of the owl painting from Renaissance Tattoo Studio (pictured above) are available at the Rock the Art show at City Side Thursday from 6-9 p.m. The Rock the Arts show is one of several fundraisers lined up to help the city throw its 125th birthday block party.

In addition to perusing local art and sculpture for sale, Rock the Art patrons will get an evening of dancing to live rock music from 6-9 p.m., hors d'oeuvres and an assortment buffet of pasta and chicken dishes. There may be a few other culinary surprises, as well, said Dave Gouin, a co-owner of the restaurant. 

Tickets are $10 and are available at River Falls Restaurant or the Mayor's office at City Hall, 169 Main St. 

Classical music, kids listen free - Are your kids fans of classical music?Want them to experience it and decide for themselves? Then check out the Ocean State Summer Pops concert Aug. 10 at Stadium Theatre. Kids 12 & Under are free. 

Holiday Trash Pickup
 - In observance of Victory Day the Woonsocket Recycle Drop-off Facility will be closed Monday, Aug. 12. Residents are reminded that curbside pick-up of trash and recycling for the week of 
Aug. 12 to 16 will be delayed by one day.

Call the Solid Waste Division at 767-8880 if you have any questions.

Craft Class at Library - Make free crafts on Fridays, 1-2 p.m. at Woonsocket Harris Public Library. This program is great for kids aged 10 & up. Aug 9 and 16, 22, 23. A different craft each day may include duct tape arts, beading, bracelet making and more. contact Teen Desk at 767-4132
