'Agitated' Woonsocket Teen Hit With Gun Charge After Making Threat: Cops
Officers found a revolver, a rifle, a machete, marijuana and another teen hiding in a bedroom of the 16-year-old's home, police said.
WOONSOCKET, RI — Officers searching a Woonsocket High School student's home after he threatened to get a gun and assault a fellow student found a revolver, a rifle, a machete, marijuana and another teen hiding in a bedroom, police said.
High school staff notified a school resource officer that the 16-year-old student said he was going to a firearm and return to assault a fellow student about 8:40 a.m. Thursday, Woonsocket Deputy Chief Adam T. Remick said in an email.

The 16-year-old was "also observed to be agitated and leaving the school," Remick said.
The school was placed on lockdown and the teen was spotted near his home, according to the email.

"With the student secure, the school lockdown was lifted," Remick said.
Officers met with the teen's parents and searched their home, according to the email.
They found a 15-year-old "hiding in a bedroom," Remick said, along with a Taurus .380-caliber revolver, a .177-caliber rifle, ammunition, a machete and numerous packages of marijuana.

The 16-year-old was charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition and disorderly conduct, according to the email, and the 15-year-old was charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition and possession of marijuana.
The two teens were taken to the Rhode Island Training School, Remick said.
