Woonsocket police say a 74-year-old woman from Bellingham, Massachusetts, died after being hit by a car over the weekend.
The boy was taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence. Woonsocket police say the boy's leg may have been broken.
Both drivers were treated for minor injuries.
Police say Irene Gaulin and her husband Louis Gaulin were traveling south on Harris Avenue when they crossed into the northbound lane.
Street sweeping began in the East Woonsocket District on Monday.
The incident took place on Clinton Street at approximately 8 p.m. on Dec. 17.
On-street parking will be prohibited starting Wednesday until further notice.
