Health Fair Tuesday On Tuesday, July 23, Thundermist will host a Community Health Fair. The fair will be free and open to the public. It'll be held on the first floor of 450 Clinton St., Woonsocket and run from 3:30 – 6 p.m., in conjunction with the Farmers’ Market (which is set up in the parking lot near Bank of America and Subway).
Come get free health screenings, such as blood pressure readings, BMI calc...ulations, immunization screenings, skin care screenings, spirometry testing, hearing tests, and more.
Redevelopment Tuesday - The city's Redevelopment Agency meets this Tuesday, July 23, 8 a.m., at City Hall, 169 Main St., in the second floor conference room. They'll discuss changes to the comprehensive plan and Redevelopment Agency Designation legislation.
School Committee Thursday - On July 25, 5 p.m., the Woonsocket School Committee will meet at Hamlet Middle School, 60 Florence Dr., to discuss recommendations from a review of the Special Education Department and a plan of action/timeline for restructuring.
Animals Thursday - Animal World Experiences comes to Woonsocket Harris Public Library Thursday July 25 1-2 p.m. They'll bring live animals that dig in the earth as part of our Summer Reading Program. For ages four and up. Free tickets still available call 401-769-9044 to reserve tickets.
Movie in the Park Friday - Movies in the Parks is held Friday Nights in July, at River Island Park at dusk. This week, we've got Wreck It Ralph on tap. Woonsocket Parks & Recreation is offering FREE Shuttle Service to the movies and back for residents of Kennedy Manor, Crepeau Court, St. Germain and Park View. Drop-off service will also be provided to residents of Hanora Lippett assisted living, who usually walk to the event.
