
School Committee - The Woonsocket School Committee meets tonight, 7 p.m. at Hamlet Middle School, 60 Florence Dr. Among the items on their agenda, they'll discuss cuts to pay the approximately $1 million difference left after a $500,000 grant for full day Kindergarten, without which the program cannot return this year. They'll also discuss the appointment of administrators, including principals for Coleman Elementary and Pothier Elementary, as well as an assistant principal for the Middle School.
Arc de Triomphe - The temporary replica of the Parisian Arc de Triomphe, to serve as the centerpiece for the city's 125th birthday block party, is slowly taking shape. Scaffolding had risen about three stories by Tuesday afternoon (see photo). Swing by to see it continue to take shape this afternoon.
History in Pictures: Tonight, the city's 125th anniversary celebration continues with "Then and Now," a slide show of historic Woonsocket images, at St. Ann's Arts and Cultural Center. Admission is $10.
