
Food Bank Needs Help - The St. James Episcopal Church's Prescott Beach Food Bank at 24 Hamlet Ave. is in need of bars of soap, as well as any canned or boxed food items you can donate. Find a good sale or thin out your cupboard and help them stock up. Call the church at 401-762-2222 or bring items to the Food Bank during their hours Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-4 p.m.
B'nai Israel Open House - On Sunday, Aug. 18 from 10 a.m.-noon, Congregation B'nai Israel will be holding an Open House for interested families and individuals. Congregation B'nai Israel serves the area's Jewish community with a variety of religious, cultural, and social activities. Anyone interested in Hebrew School, Children's programming, Senior Programming, High Holiday services, or connecting with their local Jewish community are invited. Race Against Racism volunteers sought - Volunteers are needed for YWCA Race Against Racism at Autumnfest. Many opportunities are available to support the 5K run/walk on Oct. 13 from 7 to 11 a.m.
Volunteers are needed in the following areas: race set up, registration, water station, on course guide, finish line, and clean up. A volunteer form is available on the Race Against Racism website.
