What's Happening this Weekend in Woonsocket?

Here's the slate of activities listed on the Woonsocket Patch Calendar for May 31 through June 2.

 

Memorial Day may have marked the start of summer on the calendar — but this weekend will really feel like it.

With the forecast calling for sun through the weekend with highs in the 90s before rain moves in on Sunday night, there's no excuse to get out and enjoy some of the events happening around Woonsocket.

Friday, May 31:

  • 8:30 pm: Karaoke at Rick's Bar & Grill. Full pizza menu.
  • 9 pm: Karaoke with DJ Jimmy at Michael's Food & Spirits. 21+, ID required. No cover.

Saturday, June 1:

  • 8 am: Main Street Open House at Woonsocket City Hall. Aspiring business owners or those looking to expand are invited to this informative event. The Woonsocket Commercial Corridors Program hosts the free program.
  • 9 am: 3rd Annual Make Tracks for Kids 5K Race/Walk and 1K Fun Run to benefit Connecting for Children & Families. Held on the campus of Bryant University. Channel 12 Chief Meteorologist Tony Petrarca serves as Celebrity Chairman of the events. $25 registration in advance; $30 day of event.
  • 9 am: Family Fundraiser and Bazaar at River First United Methodist Church. $1 refreshments until 3 pm. Car wash and yard sale. $20 for sale tables. Tix available for the pasta dinner later in the day.
  • 10 am: Arts & Culture Walking Tour - Connie Anderson, President of the Arts Guild of Woonsocket, and Brad Fesmire, Program Director at RiverzEdge Arts Project, will lead a walking tour about the arts and cultural opportunities in the community. The tour will leave from City Hall. For more information or to RSVP, contact YWCA Rhode Island at (401) 769 - 7450.
  • 10 am: Spring Craft Sale at Le Moulin. Handmade jewelry, paintings, one-of-a-kind up-cycled furniture and home decor, hand knit and crochet items, books, and more.
  • 11 am: Pro Wrestling Fan Camp at Showcase Pro Wrestling Store and Training Center. Think you're the next John Cena? Or the newest Superfly? Try your hand at the four-hour camp. $49, includes ticket to Saturday night's event.
  • 3:30 pm: Harvest of Joy Program on WARV 1590-AM.
  • 9 pm: Karaoke at Ciro's, 42 Cherry St. No cover. Drink and dinner specials.

Sunday, June 2:

  • 1:30 pm: Bingo at Fairmount Heights. Knock on the window and they'll let you in. Mention that you saw the note on Woonsocket Patch.
  • 4 pm: Meal Site at River First United Methodist Church. Offered free to the community. Sign-in required.
