Woonsocket Man Admits to Rape and Molestation of Children
Juan Silva, 37, will serve 10 years behind bars.

WOONSOCKET, RI—Thirty-seven-year-old Juan Silva of Woonsocket admitted in court today that he raped a 15-year-old girl, molested an 11-year-old girl and physically assaulted a 9-year-old boy on three separate occasions.
Silva's admission before Superior Court Justice Kristin E. Rodgers came as he pleaded no contest to charges of first-degree sexual assault, second-degree child molestation and second-degree child abuse.
Silva was sentenced to 25 years, 10 to serve and the remainder suspended with probation. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for life and comply with neighborhood and community notification statutes.

The victims were known to Silva, according to Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin. The charges were originally filed in 2013.
Woonsocket Police Det. Ron Marcos led the investigation.
