Woonsocket Man Admits to Trafficking Oxycodone

WOONSOCKET, RI—A 29-year-old Woonsocket man is facing jail time after pleading guilty in federal court this week to trafficking Oxycodone, a highly-addictive prescription opined commonly sold on the black market.
Jeffry Pare, 29, admitted in U.S. District Court on Tuesday that he sold more than 700 pills to an undercover police officer.
Pare, who was arrested by DEA Drug Task Force agents and Woonsocket police last July, has been free on $50,000 unsecured bond to home confinement and will remain until his Aug. 18 sentencing, said U.S. Attorney Peter Neronha.

According to a criminal complaint, Pare sold the tablets to an undercover Providence police officer assigned to the state DEA task force on three occasions between July and August of 2014.
Pare sold the officer 69 pills for $2,100, 200 for $5,800 and 491 for $22,400 during each of the three transactions.
