Maria Caceres, a Woonsocket resident and a member of The College Crusade of Rhode Island, has won a $250 college scholarship from Epoch Senior Living, in Providence.
The scholarship was sponsored by residents of Epoch Senior Living who participate in a writing workshop hosted by Rhode Island state poet Rick Benjamin. The award was created to support young poets who are headed to college in the fall.
The College Crusade of Rhode Island is the state’s most comprehensive college-readiness and scholarship program for middle school and high school students in low-income urban communities. For more information, please visit www.thecollegecrusade.org.
