• Cop hit by car, officers fire on suspects in Batesburg-Leesville (wrdw.com) — Police say a traffic stop on West Church Street in Batesburg-Leesville turned violent Wednesday when a driver tried to flee, hitting one officer and nearly striking another, prompting officers to fire at the suspects. Both people in the vehicle were taken for medical treatment, and state agents are now investigating the officer-involved shooting, as is standard procedure.
