  1. Charleston's Livability and Tourism officials have updated the rules regarding short-term rental properties in the city. Over 600 cases of illegal rentals have been reported in Charleston since 2018. It is illegal to advertise a short-term rental property without a permit within the city limits of Charleston. Most of the decisions surrounding short-term rental properties pertain to safety, particularly concerning Airbnb and Vrbo rentals. (WCBD News 2)
  2. On Monday, two men were arrested at the Charleston International Airport after they arrived with their suitcases filled with narcotics. Police received a tip that 22-year-old Carl Dais Jr. would be bringing a large quantity of drugs to the airport. He and a colleague, 22-year-old Tyler Davis, were arrested after K-9 officers sniffed the luggage and determined it contained narcotics. Both men have been arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana. (WCBD News 2)
  3. Experience some of the best parts of Charleston on Jan. 21. Starting at 10:00 a.m., Sightsee Shop will be hosting what it has coined "the Best Pop-Up Ever." The event will include treats from Brandywine Coffee and Mansueta's Filipino Food. Sightsee was named last year's Best Coffee Shop in South Carolina. You'll also be able to hear music from DJ Moldybrain! (Holy City Sinner)
