Branded Dog Taken to Charleston Animal Society

The Charleston Animal Society is caring for a dog that was found branded with the number "300" on its sides

The Charleston Animal Society is now taking care of a dog that had been shaved and branded with some kind of caustic substance.

CAS posted a photo of "Lucky" to Facebook showing the number 300 burned into his sides on Thursday. He was spotted and brought in to the no-kill shelter by a concerned citizen.

The shelter's vetrinarian, Dr. Sarah Boyd, determined the brand mark was made by a caustic substance, after Lucky's sides had been shaved. The brand was made on both sides.
