Charges Pending for U-Haul Driver Shot by Deputy

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is waiting to confirm the identity of the man shot by a deputy after a chase into Georgetown County Sunday

Several charges await the man shot by a Charleston County Sheriff's Office Deputy after a car chase on Sunday.

The as yet unidentified suspect remained in a Myrtle Beach hospital Monday. Charges of driving under the influence, assault first degree, resisting arrest and failure to stop for blue lights are expected to be lodged against the driver once his identity is confirmed, according to a CCSO statement.

Deputies did recover an Oklahoma driver's license at the Pole Yard Boat Landing, where the man allegedly abandoned a U-Haul truck following a chase that began in McClellanville, however investigators had not determined whether the license was real, or belonged to the suspect, according to the statement.
