  1. In addition to breaking several South Carolina animal records, the Charleston Animal Society set a Guinness World Record at their VAX-A-PALOOZA event on Saturday. The world record was for 2,226 pledges by pet owners promising to keep their pets vaccinated against deadly viruses. Charleston Animal Society President and CEO Joe Elmore said, "With this World Record, the Lowcountry showed just how much people here truly love their animals." (Live 5 News WCSC)
  2. Audubon of South Carolina has proposed the Way Tract Mitigation Bank on a 452-acre site in Dorchester County south of US Highway 78. The organization has already submitted to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers the plans for 408 acres of freshwater wetlands, 288 acres of forested wetlands to be preserved, and 120 acres of freshwater wetlands to be enhanced. The site, which is west of Highway 27, is part of an 842-acre property owned by the National Audubon Society of New York. (Subscription: Charleston Post Courier)
  3. A shooting took place at the nearby Tanger Outlets in nearby North Charleston on Friday evening. Around 7:45 p.m., North Charleston police responded to a possible shooting and found a male victim who was shot as a result of an argument between two groups of people. The shooting suspect fled the scene and police are investigating. (WCBD News 2)
