  1. Detectives with the Charleston Police Department are asking for the public's help in identifying two women who are connected to a string of hotel thefts. On Jan. 10, items, including pocketbooks, a cell phone, and jewelry, were stolen from hotel rooms on Wentworth Street. Police released security footage and photos of the suspects. Please contact Lowcountry Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111 if you recognize the women or have any information regarding the case. (Live 5 News WCSC)
  2. The City of Charleston created a Black-owned Microbusiness Opportunity Grant using funding from the National League of Cities' Equitable Economic Mobility Initiative. The grant program is for Charleston area Black-owned businesses. The application deadline is Feb. 2, 2023. Click here for more information. (City of Charleston)
  3. A new restaurant is coming to downtown Charleston. Sorelle will be an Italian, all-day café-style restaurant. The new eatery is set to open on Feb. 15 at the 88 Broad St. location. (WTMA)

  • In case you missed it: The Charleston County Public Library received a $10,000 grant for its "Free and Fresh Community Fridge Program!" The program distributes free fruits and vegetables to libraries in areas of higher food insecurity and need. (Live 5 News WCSC)
  • Charleston County Government is now accepting the 2024 Application for Local Accommodations Tax Funding, which is due to the Charleston County Budget Department by Mar. 1. The county distributes approximately $300,000 to non-profit, 501(c) organizations that provide support and increase tourism in Charleston County. (ABC NEWS 4)
