Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:

  1. The College of Charleston was able to raise $6.7 million recently during their annual fundraising event. During the College of Charleston Day on Jan. 26, almost 2,300 donors – which included 580 people who were either staff, students, or faculty – made donations in the 24 hours of giving. The funds raised will work to support the students at the university, the programs offered, and it's infrastructure. (Press Release Desk)
  2. A Charleston County school bus was involved in an accident in nearby Johns Island on Monday morning. The crash occurred around 7:18 a.m. on Brownswood and Murraywood roads and involved the school bus and a Honda Odyssey. It is unclear how the crash occurred, but none of the occupants on the bus were injured. The driver of the Odyssey suffered minor injuries but did not go to the hospital. (Live 5 News WCSC)
  3. Gas prices in South Carolina have fallen about nine cents for a regular gallon of gasoline in the last week. The average price per gallon currently sits at $3.05, which is actually over 11 cents higher than it was a month ago. Lowcountry's lowest gas prices were found at gas stations in Georgetown and Summerville on Monday morning coming in at $2.85. (Live 5 News WCSC)
