Drug Sting Leads to Charges for North Charleston Man

The Charleston Police Department served two warrants on a man already in custody   based on an undercover drug operation this week.

Henry Coaxum, Jr., 41, of Alabama Drive, North Charleston was charged with distribution of heroin and distribution of a controlled substance within close proximity of a school, according to a CPD statement.

Coaxum was already on probation on a possession of heroin charge, and was in custody at the Al Cannon Detention Center Tuesday on unrelated charges when Charleston Police served him with the two warrants on the listed charges.

The charges stemmed from an undercover drug operation the department ran in the area of Orange Grove Road, during which Coaxum was allegedly in possession of 1 gram of heroin, according to the statement.
