Charleston Police have blocked three lanes of Meeting Street between Wentworth and Society streets in downtown Charleston.
A large oak tree, which may have been sideswiped by a large vehicle fell sometime before 6:30 p.m.
Officers are diverting westbound traffic to Wentworth Street and eastbound traffic is moving very slowly with one lane blocked.
