GOP Steering Committee Recommends Sanford Committee Assignments
The Republican Steering Committee has recommended Rep. Mark Sanford for the Homeland Security and Transportation & Infrastructure committees
Rep. Mark Sanford will likely find himself seated on the Homeland Security and Transportation & Infrastructure committees next week.
The Republican Steering Committee recommended Sanford for the posts today, but the appointments will have to be ratified by the full House of Representatives next week, according to a statement from Sanford's office.
"These are important committees, not just for the 1st congressional district, but for their ultimate consequence and effect on this nation," Sanford wrote in the statement. "Should the Republican Steering Committee's recommendation be ratified next week, I will work in both committees, not only on behalf of the 1st congressional district, but as I always have in the interest of the taxpayer."
