Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:

  1. The King Street Steve Madden store has closed. The lower King Street shop where the popular brand's shoes and accessories were sold did not provide a reason for the closure as of Monday evening. It is unclear if another location will open in Charleston. (ABC NEWS 4)
  2. South Carolina's Joint Bond Review Committee voted unanimously to distribute $22 million toward a new access road to Charleston International Airport. The approved funds are in addition to a previously already approved amount of $17 million toward the expected $143.8 million project. With funds from the South Carolina Department of Transportation, Charleston County, and the federal government, about $1.7 million is left for the five-lane highway. (Construction Equipment Guide)
  3. A woman is facing multiple charges after she tied up two victims and beat them on Sunday in a North Charleston roadway, according to police. Emily Shaw, 58, allegedly tied up two victims, one being a minor, and beat them over a stolen church vehicle which was not reported to police. Shaw is facing two charges of kidnapping and two charges of first-degree assault and battery. The adult victim sustained injuries in the assault and was taken to the hospital. (Live 5 News WCSC)
