- Jordan Blake, 19, of Charleston County, was recently arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of children. The Internet Crimes Against Children task force made the arrest after an ongoing investigation since December when they received a tip that Blake had shared a video of a child between 2 and 4 years of age being sexually assaulted. Blake remains in custody on a $175,000 bond at the Al Cannon Detention Center. (ABC NEWS 4)
- The North Charleston City Council is exploring the possibility of leaving the Charleston County School District and creating its own. North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey said this idea is in a research phase and would not be a "fast-paced" project. Additionally, the mayor said he believes North Charleston is putting more into the school district than what the city is receiving. He said, "A community, at the end of the day, is only as strong as the education we can provide for our children, and we just want to make sure that our kids are getting the top chance that they can to get that education." - Jacques Fabre-Jeune, appointed as the Bishop of Charleston, conducted Ash Wednesday services at the Broad River Correctional Institution a couple of hours away in Columbia.
