Man Robbed at Gunpoint on Queen Street

Charleston Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened on Queen Street early Thursday

A tourist in town from Kentucky was robbed at gunpoint on Queen Street after midnight Thursday.

The 46-year-old victim told police two men approached him on the block of Queen Street between Church and Meeting streets and stole his wallet and iPhone. One of the men was armed with a handgun, according to a Charleston Police Department report. The wallet contained $40 cash and four credit cards belonging to the victim. The iPhone is valued at $400.

The armed robbery took place outside of 47 Queen Street. The victim then walked to the Cumberland Street parking garage and contacted Charleston Police through the booth teller, according to the report.
