- Joseph Jackson, 74, who allegedly shot a Charleston deputy, has been deemed unfit for trial. The man, who has been in jail since 2021 with an attempted murder charge for the deputy's death, has delusional disorder, dementia, and a history of post-traumatic stress disorder. An evaluator said Jackson lacks "rational understanding." (Subscription: The Charleston Post And Courier)
- After heavy police activity on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston on Tuesday afternoon, one person has been arrested. The suspect lead police on a pursuit after fleeing the scene of a traffic stop which eventually led to a crash near Cosgrove Avenue. The driver was not injured and was taken into custody by the Charleston County Sheriff's Office. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- Dominion Energy announced yesterday they awarded a total of $1.3 million in environmental stewardship grants to organizations in eight states; South Carolina nonprofits received $236,000 in grants. In Charleston, Audubon South Carolina, Charleston Charter School for Math and Science, and Green Heart Project received grant money for specific projects. (ABC NEWS 4)
