- A pedestrian was reportedly hit by a car in Charleston on Thursday evening around 8:22 p.m. The collision occurred at the Fielding Connector and Ripley Point Drive. Police were originally on the scene investigating the incident with the road closed; the road reopened at 9:04 p.m. the same evening. (ABC NEWS 4)
- The Charleston County Sheriff's Office arrested 26-year-old Deandre Jermol Major on one count of murder this week. Major was arrested in connection to 65-year-old Jarnaro Carlos Middleton's death in Johns Island on Jan. 14. Additional charges are possible. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- A Charleston County woman was arrested on Thursday after deputies discovered a malnourished and unhoused dog in the area. Geneva Storm Bowens, 28, was charged with ill-treatment of animals after a dog was located, as described by the incident report, as "emaciated, in a medium-sized wire crate that was caked on the bottom with feces." The dog was taken to the Charleston Animal Society for care. (Live 5 News WCSC)
