- A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of St. Philip and Vanderhorst streets in downtown Charleston on Thursday afternoon. The intersection has since reopened and the investigation is ongoing. No further details were released as of Thursday evening. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- Joseph Deas, 33, has been charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. The charges stem from a December 2022 incident where Deas allegedly stole thousands of dollars from a Charleston grocery store while holding employees at gunpoint. He was arrested on Wednesday and booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center. (ABC NEWS 4)
- Police in nearby North Charleston are investigating an alleged hit-and-run outside Outback Steakhouse. The police have not yet released the 25-year-old female suspect's name, but are treating the incident as stemming from a domestic situation. According to the victim, the woman in the 2017 black Mazda 3 tried to hit his female coworker. (Live 5 News WCSC)
