- Road closures should be expected in the city today (Mar. 17) as two St. Patrick's Day parades kick off this morning. The city's Saint Patrick's Day Parade will begin on Ann Street at 10:00 a.m. and area road closure will begin at 9:00 a.m. The Hibernian Society's St. Patrick's Day parade kicks off at 10:30 a.m. on Meeting Street. - A 19-year-old driver in Charleston County led deputies on a chase that ended in a crash early Thursday morning. The deputies had attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver, identified as Robert Thomas Walters, fled the scene. Walters eventually crashed into a ditch on Orange Grove Road. He was charged with failure to stop for blue lights and drug possession after cocaine was found in his possession. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- A shooting in Charleston on Wednesday night left one person injured. The Charleston Police Department responded to the incident in the 100 block of Hagood Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Inspector Michael Gillooly confirmed the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident is currently under investigation by the police department. (Live 5 News WCSC)

- The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is hosting a blood drive on Mar. 31 from 1:00-6:00 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Center on Leeds Avenue. The American Red Cross Drive will give donors a $10 eGift card and will enter them for a chance to win one at a $3,000 value. (WCBD News 2)
- With St. Paddy's Day celebrations starting today and running through the weekend, the police department reminds the community not to "press your luck this weekend!" Keep yourself, others, and the roads safe by not driving impaired. (City of Charleston Police Department via Facebook)
