Here are the top three stories in Columbia today:
- Police are investigating an incident at a Columbia housing complex that left one person dead and three others hospitalized. Emergency responders were dispatched to the Latimer Manor community early Friday morning for the incident, which is being investigated as a drug overdose. The Columbia Police Department has reportedly arrested a 35-year-old woman for drug possession and is in the process of distributing drug awareness information to neighbors. (WLTX.com)
- The University of South Carolina announced that as of yesterday, Feb. 25, the Palmetto College iCarolina Community Learning Lab at UofSC Union is open to the public. The computer lab will be one of eight locations opening throughout the state, offering high-speed broadband internet access to individuals in underserved communities. (wsnwradio.com)
- The Leadership Columbia Class of 2022 recently announced a partnership with Transitions Homeless Center as part of its class project. The project includes installing a basketball court, reconstructing garden beds in the courtyard, painting the Day Center, and developing training materials to support the Day Center's workforce readiness initiatives.
