5 Things to Do Before the Summer Ends
The kids will be back in school soon so spend some time with them at one of these events.
The first day of school for Richland School District 1 students is August 19.
Instead of thinking about how short your summer was, how about enjoying the last 11 days of vacation?
Here's a list of five fun things to do before your summer ends:
1. Explore Edventure Children's Museum or participate in the Countdown to Kindergarten this Friday. The event features games, face painting, karaoke, medical screenings and more.
2. Spend a day at Riverbanks Zoo. Meet all of the zoo's new residents including 12-year-old Ajari, a gorilla, and two baby flamingos.
3. Relax by taking the boat out for a ride on Lake Murray.
4. Take the kids to see a movie. "The Way, Way Back" at the Nickelodeon (for ages 13 and up) runs until August 15.
5. Tour Booker T. Washington High School on USC's campus to learn about one of Columbia’s first all-black public schools.
