We're only a few rainy days away from building an ark. The 10-plus-rainy-day stretch has left South Carolina residents wet, gloomy and grumpy.
So, what can make it better? Check out these five things that can help.
1. Brookstone's Happy Light-You can order a Happy Light on Amazon. It recreates natural light and promises to boost mood and productivity in the winter or rainy summer. I work with one on my desk and can tell a huge difference in the way I function.
2. Cute rain boots-If you're in a low area, this is a godsend. Even the most anti-fashionista traveler will agree that new boots that keep your feet and pants from getting wet will make the commute a little better. Crocs makes cute, affordable ones, as does Coach and Ralph Lauren (both available at Belk's).
3. Bug Spray-Remember the West Nile outbreak of last year? Remember what it was caused by? Take caution against mosquitos near standing water by using bug spray before you head outside.
4. Hat-South Carolinians love their monograms. In almost any city, you can find monogrammed straw hats or baseball hats. If not, you can order them on Etsy. You can also get a fedora, very big this season, to keep the rain out of your eyes and hide a bad hair day.
5. Non-clammy rain coat- The newest invention in rain coats, the Mountain Hardware Ampato, promises to keep you dry without getting clammy on the inside--a definite must for hot South Carolina summers!
