Alvin Pressley, principal of W.J. Keenan High School, has received a 2012 Passing the Torch Award from the Renaissance Foundation. The award recognizes leaders under the age of 50 who tirelessly work to serve their communities and improve the quality of life in South Carolina.  Four Richland One educators have been awarded $250 grants by the Columbia Chapter of Links, Inc. to promote healthy eating and lifestyle choices. This year's honorees are Charnice Starks Ray (Keenan High School), Emma Ball (Columbia High School) and Adrian Sampson (Caughman Road Elementary School). John P. Thomas Elementary School Principal Selina Latimore accepted the grant award on behalf of the school's parent educator, Freddie Harrell.
