Benedict College Student Died After Delivering Baby in Dorm Room, Coroner Says
The student, whose name has not been released by the college, was about 32 weeks pregnant, Richland County Gary Watts said.

A Benedict College student whose body was found Tuesday was in her dorm room when she died from a loss of blood due to complications from child birth, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said Thursday.
The student was about 32 weeks pregnant, Watts said.
According to a report from WACH Fox, the student has been identified as Ayaanah Gibson, a freshman student from California.

At some time on Saturday afternoon or early Sunday, Watts said, the woman apparently delivered a stillborn fetus in her room.
According to a report from The State, the student was 19 years old and it is not known why the woman did not call 911.

No foul play is expected in the case.
