Here are the top three stories today in Columbia:
- Columbia's 17th annual Black History Parade and Festival is returning this weekend for the first time in two years. The parade will start at 1 p.m. on the corner of Hampton St. and Harden Swith the festival taking place at MLK Park from 1 to 5 p.m. Alex English and Bishop Redfern II will be the Grand Marshals for the parade. - Free COVID-19 testing and vaccines will be available at COMET Central this week. They will be open from Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The COMET Central is located at 1727 Sumter Street. (Abccolumbia.com)
- A body was found in the wreckage of an overnight fire at 5432 Pinestraw Road. Tawarna Mitchell, 65, was killed in the fire that occurred on Monday night. No one else was in the house during the fire. (The State)
