Here are the top two stories in Columbia today:

  1. One person was injured in a shooting that occurred at the 900 block of Bluff Road on Friday afternoon. The man was shot in the foot and has a non-life-threatening injury. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage to see what happened. (WIS10)
  2. A Ridge View High School student filed a lawsuit against Richland County School District Two after he alleges he was sexually assaulted before a basketball game by several players in January of 2020. The victim was a member of the basketball team then and claims damage persisted after the assault in the locker room. The lawsuit claims that Ridgeview High School’s boys’ athletic programs have a history of violent abuse and hazing. (WIS10)
  3. Just one month after an unexpected earthquake shook the Columbia area, residents in the Elgin area are still feeling the ground move. The S.C. Emergency Management Division announced that a 2.1 magnitude earthquake occurred just after 6:46 p.m. on Thursday to the east of Elgin. (The Charlotte Observer)
