Columbia Council to Tackle Homeless Plan

Columbia City Council continue discussion on proposed plans for the city's homeless at a regular meeting Tuesday.

Council will meet at 6 p.m. at the Eau Claire Print Building, 3907 Ensor Avenue.

The agenda includes a presentation from interim Columbia Police Chief Ruben Santiago on a safety and security plan for downtown and recommendations for operating the emergency shelter beginning in September. Council is also expected to vote on a resolution to enter into a services agreement with Christ Central Ministries to run the homeless shelter.
