Columbia Piggly Wiggly Store Sold to Bi-Lo
A Columbia Piggly Wiggly is one of 29 stores that were sold to either Bi-Lo or Harris Teeter.
A Columbia Piggly Wiggly store has been sold to Bi-Lo and will soon transition to its new banner, according to a statement made Thursday by the Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company Inc.
Store #132 located at 4711 Forest Drive is one of 29 Piggly Wiggly stores that were sold to either Bi-Lo or Harris Teeter.
Four stores in Columbia will remain under the Piggly Wiggly banner: 3818 Devine Street, 2000 Clemson Road, 4033 W. Beltline Boulevard and 6325 N. Main Street.
Employees at the affected stores will have job opportunities with Bi-Lo, according to a release. The stores are expected to rapidly transition to their new brands.
The company did not disclose the financial details of the transaction. Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company was founded in Charleston in 1947.
