Columbia Police Find Car Connected to Colony Apartments Shooting

The silver Dodge Charger was found in Charlotte, N.C.

Columbia Police have located a vehicle they say is connected to last week's shooting at the Colony Apartments.

The silver Dodge Charger was found in Charlotte, N.C., and has been processed for any possible forensic evidence, Columbia spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons said Monday night.

A shootout between a group of people on foot and a person or persons in the Charger occurred on July 8 at the apartment complex located off West Beltline Boulevard. A 4-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet while she watched TV in her home on Bailey Street. The girl's current condition is unknown.

One suspect has been arrested in the case. Marcus Sinclaire Gantt, 21, is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and unlawful carrying of a pistol.

Police say another man, 20-year-old Laquan Lamont Natt, is a "person of interest" in the shooting.

Columbia Police continue to investigate the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident or Natt's whereabouts should call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
