Columbia Police: One Arrested in Stabbing at Five Points Bar

Columbia Police arrested one suspect who they say stabbed two male employees at Group Therapy in Five Points on Sunday.

One of four suspects wanted in connection with the stabbing of two employees at a bar in Five Points over the weekend has been arrested, the Columbia Police Department announced Monday afternoon.

Stewart Randall Ard, 38, turned himself in to authorities Monday. Ard is charged with two counts of second-degree assault and battery by mob and two counts of first-degree assault.

Ard is accused of stabbing two male employees at Group Therapy located at 2107 Green Street shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday after he and another suspect were asked to leave the business because of the behavior they displayed inside, according to a release.

The two men left the business and returned to allegedly commit the crime, police said.  

Ard allegedly tried to stab two more males as they ran after him moments before the incident, according to the release.

Another suspect is accused of punching the victims before the stabbing occurred.

The two victims were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Additional warrants are pending in connection with the case, according to the release.

Ard is expected to be transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
