Here are the top three stories today in Columbia:

  1. Two victims were identified in the Tuesday morning shooting that took place just off Decker Boulevard in Columbia. Richard Boineau and Lance Scott were pronounced dead at the scene while another victim was transported to a hospital for life-saving treatment, according to officials. There are no details about a shooter or a motive yet. (WLTX.com)
  2. Edventure Children’s Museum is offering a “Sensory Night” Easter celebration tomorrow, Apr. 15, at 5:00 p.m. Lowered music, reduced lighting, and a calming room are just some of the measures being taken to ensure the fun of all children, including those with sensory sensitivities and disabilities. Check out this hub for family fun and inclusiveness! (Abccolumbia.com)
  3. Could $500,000 help stop more diabetes deaths and amputations? A West Columbia community group called The Brookland-Lakeview Empowerment Center has joined a program that aims to prevent and manage Type 2 Diabetes among the local Black and Hispanic community. The half a million dollars will be used to put 200 to 350 people through diabetes-management programs to prevent complications like kidney problems and amputations. (The State)
