Update: Demolition at Broad River Road Bridge to be Rescheduled

Update, 1:30 p.m.: Demolition work on the Broad River Road Bridge will be rescheduled due to the weather and rising water levels at the site, Columbia officials said. 

Original story: The Broad River Road Bridge will be closed to traffic for a short period of time Tuesday afternoon.

Traffic will be stopped in both directions on US 176 (Broad River Road/River Drive) for up to 15 minutes starting at 3 p.m. as a construction crew performs "demolition activities," the city of Columbia announced.
