Here are the top three stories today in Columbia:

  1. A woman has been arrested for murder after an incident at the Columbia Economy Inn. On Tuesday morning, police responded to reports of a domestic dispute. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from a stab wound. Shayla Dickerson stabbed the victim during the dispute and was later arrested and charged with murder.   2. A statue of the controversial figure John C. Calhoun is moving from Marion Square in Charleston to Columbia. Calhoun was the 7th vice president of the United States and an advocate for slavery. Charleston officials voted unanimously to remove the statue in the wake of the death of George Floyd. The move to Columbia was approved by the South Carolina State Museum and Charleston City Council; the statue has yet to have a location. (WLTX.com)
  3. The 17th Annual Black History Parade and Festival is returning to Columbia. The festival will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26th at MLK Park from 1:00-5:00 p.m. It will feature live entertainment and activities for children. (Abccolumbia.com)
