Eight Forums Scheduled to Increase Columbia's Voter Turnout
The first of eight forums begin Wednesday.

The League of Women Voters and the City of Columbia have partnered to offer eight election education forums to help increase voter turnout for the Nov. 5 election, with the first session starting on Wednesday.
The forums have been scheduled for the public in each district and will continue through Wednesday, Oct. 2.
Nine candidates will appear on the ballot for mayor and three council seats.

District II -Wednesday, Sept. 11

12 to 1 p.m.: Charles R. Drew Wellness Center, 2101 Walker Solomon
5:15 to 6:15 p.m.: Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, 2300 Greene Street
District III -Wednesday, Sept. 18
12 to 1 p.m.: Sims Park, 3500 Duncan Street
5:15 to 6:15 p.m.: Woodlands Park , 6500 Olde Knight Parkway
District I - Wednesday, September 25
12 to 1 p.m.: Greenview Park, 6700 David Street
5:15 to 6:15 p.m.: Chestnut Hills Plantation Clubhouse , 851 Lost Creek Drive
District IV -Wednesday, October 2
12 to 1 p.m.: Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, 1005 Asbury Drive
5:15 to 6:15 p.m.: Heathwood Park, 800 Abelia Road
To vote in the upcoming election, residents must be registered by Saturday, Oct. 5. To register, contact the Richland County Elections & Voter Registration Office at 803-546-2240 or online at www.richlandonline.com.
