Governor: September is “Childhood Cancer Awareness Month"

The month of September has been designated "Childhood Cancer Awareness Month" to "recognize the courage and compassion of children and families affected by cancer."

Gov. Nikki Haley issued a statewide proclamation on Tuesday designating the month of September as “Childhood Cancer Awareness Month," according to a release issued by the Governor's Office.

The proclamation aims to raise awareness of the devastating effects of cancer children and their families face and the need for continued research into understanding and finding a cure, the release said.
