Here are the top three stories in Columbia today:

  1. On Wednesday afternoon, the Columbia-Richland Fire Department crews put out a fire at Hampton Greene Apartment Homes off Gills Creek Parkway. The crews arrived at 3:15 pm and put out the fire. No injuries have been reported but significant damage has been done to the building. (Abccolumbia.com)
  2. A Columbia man was arrested after trying to cash in stolen lottery tickets. The suspect attempted to redeem stolen tickets at various convenience stores. The South Carolina Education Lottery investigated the incidents and their findings led to police arresting the man. (WLTX.com)
  3. Columbia is working on a compromise agreement for Airbnb owners and residents. This agreement will allow more short-term housing in the area and loosen current restrictions. The Ad Hoc committee will meet next Tuesday to hear from neighbors of Airbnb and VRBO homes. (WLTX.com)
