Historic Columbia Foundation’s Jubilee, I Was There: Remembering the March on Washington & More

1. Historic Columbia Foundation’s Jubilee: Festival of Heritage
The Historic Columbia Foundation presents the 35th annual Jubilee: Festival of Heritage. The free, family-friendly event will be held on the grounds of the historic Mann-Simons Site, 1403 Richland Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Jubilee will feature live performances, hands-on demonstrations, a street fair and more. For more information, visit historiccolumbia.org or call 803-252-1770 ext. 26.
2. I Was There: Remembering the March on Washington
Columbia SC 63, The Renaissance Foundation and Bethel AME Church present I Was There: Remembering the March on Washington at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bethel AME Church. The panel discussion is free and open to the public. The event will be moderated by Dr. Bobby Donaldson, professor of history at the University of South Carolina, and feature locals who attended the March on Washington on August 28, 1963.
3. Spring Valley Rotary holds Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
The Spring Valley Rotary Club are teaming up to host an Applebee’s “Flapjack Fundraiser” breakfast on Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Applebee’s located at 10102 Two Notch Road in front of Lowe’s in Northeast Columbia. Tickets are $6 per person and can be purchased from any Spring Valley Rotary member or at the door the morning of the breakfast. Breakfast includes pancakes, bacon, juice, coffee, or sweet tea. Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit the Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s Project HOPE.
4. Summer Celebration of Water

5. Riverbanks Zoo's Toucan TuesdaysTwo people can visit Riverbanks Zoo for the price of one on Tuesday with a donation of two non-perishable food items for Harvest Hope. Guests who donate also save on ICEE's, fountain drinks and more. Details here.
