Here are the top three stories today in Columbia:

  1. Another larger water main break has caused road closures and water boil advisories in Columbia. The road closures will take place at the 100 block of Main Street and the 1100 block of Whaley Street. The city is advising residents who live or work on the following blocks to boil their water for a full minute before consumption: blocks 100 through 400 on Main Street, blocks 1000 through 1200 on Whaley Street, the 100 block of Sumter Street, the 1200 block of Catawba Street, and the 100 block of Assembly Street.   2. In Columbia, the South Carolina Senate Finance Committee is meeting to determine how to pay for $2 billion in proposed tax cuts. This week, the committee will work on the state's $14 billion spending plan for 2023. The state Senate wants to have deep income tax cuts for the next year. (Abccolumbia.com)
