Man Arrested After Meth Found in Columbia Home

Columbia Police arrested a man accused of making methamphetamine and possessing heroin, the department announced Wednesday.

Jerry Ward Galloway, 36, faces charges of manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, according to a release.

Police arrested Galloway after receiving information about a wanted person at a Lincoln Street home.

Police say they were given verbal consent to enter and search the home and found Galloway hiding in a closet.

Officers searched the rest of the home and found a small amount of liquid methamphetamine and several small bags containing heroin, according to the release. The heroin has an estimated street value of $260.

Galloway was arrested before on a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine, according to the release. Officers will ask that his bond be revoked.

Galloway is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
