Man Faces Charges in 37 Burglaries in Richland County

Terrance Miller is accused of stealing vodka, TVs and other electronics.

A 38-year-old man is connected to 37 burglaries in Richland County, Columba and Forest Acres, the sheriff’s department announced Monday.

Richland County investigators arrested Terrance Miller on June 12 on six counts of burglary, according to a news release. Miller is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

After interviewing Miller and questioning witnesses, investigators determined Miller was connected to 37 burglaries in and around the county, Sheriff Leon Lott said in the release.

Miller is also accused of committing the following crimes:
  • July 30, 2012: Broke the front glass window at Simba Express at 2931 Alpine Roa, to enter the business and stole a half-gallon of Exclusive vodka and a case of Ciroc vodka. Estimated value of damage is $570.
  • Oct. 30, 2012: Entered a leasing office at 80 Brighten Hill Road by breaking the front window and stealing a notary seal. Investigators were able to identify Miller through DNA left at the scene, the release said.
  • Between 4 p.m. May 31 and 12:30 a.m. June 1: Broke into an apartment at Austin Woods, 7648 Garners Ferry Road and stole a 55-inch flat-screen TV and a Wii gaming system. Estimated value of items stolen is $1,079.
  • Between 10 a.m. June 3 and 5 a.m. June 4, 2013: Broke into New Life Fitness World at 8911 Two Notch Road by breaking the front glass door and stole a cash register and a flat-screen TV. Estimated value of damage is $2,500.
  • June 3, 2013: Broke into a leasing office at 300 Meredith Square and stole a 27-inch flat-screen TV. Estimated value is $270. 
  • June 7, 2013: Broke into an apartment at 139 O’Neil Court and stole a Xbox, a Dell laptop computer and speakers. Estimated value of damage is $870.
